Join Mike Cain (managing director of era building solutions), Tom Deyo (CEO of Montgomery County Green Bank), Horacio Chacon (Senior Vice President of Revere Bank), Tim Judson (Vice President of Takoma Overlook Board of Directors), and Sandy Barrier (Account Manager for PEPCO Incentive Programs) for training on improving property budgets and resident comfort through energy efficiency. Hosted by the Montgomery County Commission on Common Ownership Communities (CCOC), this session promises to provide a wealth of knowledge to common ownership (condominium, cooperative, etc.) properties looking to reduce operating costs, increase efficiency, and improve resident comfort.
Topic: Improving Property Budgets and Home Comfort Through Energy Efficiency
What the training is about: This class is designed for Board members to understand how to plan, budget, and finance property improvements that can address inefficient heating and cooling systems that cost the property money and have residents complaining about comfort.
Undertaking energy efficiency improvements can bring long-lasting benefits to the property, add value to the homes, and increase the satisfaction of owners. This training will bring to you experts to help you understand how to determine what energy system conditions you have and what can be done to improve them, how do budgets and reserve studies fit into the assessment, what utility incentives are available to support improvements, and what financing options may be available to support costs not covered by incentives. You will leave the meeting with a better appreciation for the process to address energy savings systems, the resources available to fund, and how to develop a path to conducting improvements at the property.
